Today the Government announced a £37 million boost to the electric car infrastructure in the UK.  Their hope is that more of us will buy electric cars, which means more of your work force will use them and will need to charge them up.

As a result, businesses increasingly need to provide charging points in their car parks. What many of them don't realise is that this amounts to a structural alteration and if they are a tenant then this can mean time and cost obtaining a licence from their landlord.   If structural alterations are prohibited by their lease then it could mean that installing charging points is simply not possible.

This is just one of many issues in our fast changing world require forward thinking to "future proof" premises leases.  Today, renewing leases on historic terms without considering your business's future needs is simply not an option.
