As the Conservatives appoint their new leader and our new Prime Minister, I've been thinking a great deal about what makes a good and effective leader. The attached really resonated with me. I've been extremely fortunate to learn from some fantastic leaders and mentors in the last 20 years, both within and outside CRS (and particularly from the CEO of our family business). Hopefully, I've generally managed to land within the leadership style more than the boss style described, though my team may beg to differ! It still startles me when I encounter individuals unwilling or unable to empower others. To my mind, it is the only way to grow a successful and collegiate organisation.
