The government has confirmed that, in the light of the Covid-19 crisis, the enforcement of the new IR35 rules will be delayed for 12 months. The announcement in Parliament notes that there is no intention to change any element to the current legislation wording so we are simply on hold for a year.

This means we can all focus on what is most important right now  and do not need to worry about the implications for IR35 for the time being.  For those businesses who had already prepared for IR35, the changes made to your contracts are still of course sensible to use ahead of the legislation now coming into force in April 2021.
