Due to the COVID19 pandemic the UKIPO declared 24 March 2020 and all subsequent days to be "interrupted days".  This effectively extended most deadlines falling on an interrupted day to the next non-interrupted day. The UKIPO promised to provide a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice before ending the interrupted days period.

The UKIPO has now advised, over a month in advance, that the period of interrupted days is coming to an end on 29 July.  All extended deadlines will therefore become due on 30 July 2020.

Whilst the advance notice of the end of this period is welcomed and allows for planning, it will still be some time before registration can be achieved for pending applications and we will need to continue to wait for hard copy documents such certified copies to issue.  In order to keep matters moving we do suggest looking to meet original deadlines where possible.
