Peterborough Council is displaying significant "joined-up thinking" with its proposals to make integrated heating, electricity and transports changes.
Whatever your views on the climate emergency that we are facing, any proposals to improve efficiency, broaden the potential for renewable energy, reduce business and housing costs and strive towards achieving net-zero (as a staging post or an end in itself) should be welcomed. It will be interesting to see how this progresses and what the knock-on effect a new development and business in Peterborough and its surrounds might be.
Peterborough City Council claims that by making “integrated” changes to heat, electricity and transport, households and businesses will see their energy bills decrease by up to one-quarter. The local authority will offer an integrated billing service for heat, electricity and mobility to enable easier tracking of savings.
